Kapiti architectural kitchen

Designed by an architect for her own home, this project came with a clear vision, considered details, and plenty of interesting challenges – exactly the kind of work we love.

Ashweena from shapeshifters design brought the design; our job was to turn it into finely detailed, custom plywood joinery that worked across the kitchen and the wider home.

The material palette combines natural birch plywood, Charisma Black by Plymasters and Pōhutukawa by PlyTech, finished with a 24mm Polaris Ultra-Matt Black benchtop by PlyTech.

The contrast between the exposed birch, deep black and earthy red gives the whole project a bold architectural character.

A strong design vision, carefully executed — and a finished result that feels both architectural and completely at home.
